On the 28th of November 2012 the RCH, HAS organized a meeting comprising two major events:

1. Presentation of the research agenda and launching of the research project entitled, Reformation and the Hungarian Culture of Migration: Five Centuries of Survival of Reformed Hungarians all over the World.

2. A workshop reflecting on the disparate methodologies and interpretations of European Reformation, entitled: Interpreting Reformation(s): the Use of Competing Theories and Comparative Approaches.

The first part of the meeting was reserved for the presentation of the research agenda undertaken by the RCH, HAS and the launching of the project accepted by the REFORC, and entitled, Reformation and the Hungarian Culture of Migration: Five Centuries of Survival of Reformed Hungarians all over the World.

The RCH, HAS exhibited an ambitious schedule for the period of 2012‒2017, during which five conferences and several workshops will be organised dealing with the historiography of Reformation. All these events, promoted within the scholarly network of REFO500, will be accessible for all REFO500-partner, moreover the RCH, HAS will seek to cooperate with potential partners interested in the investigation of Eastern European Reformation and its aftermath.  

During the workshop the debates reflecting on the lectures covered several issues of various disciplinary nature, but all connected to the overall historiography of the Reformation. The multilingual communication and the consistent dialogue have focussed upon several key concepts and relevant issues: the uses and abuses of confessionalism/Konfessionalisierung, actual problems of evaluating the historiography of Unitarianism, methodological problems within the social history of the Reformation, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and comparative approaches for examining Reformation.

The director of the REFO500, Prof. Herman Selderhuis attended the meeting and delivered a lecture during the workshop touching upon the problem of confessionalism.
